Study Trip : Rice Harvesting

Today JYW students had a study trip abour rice harvesting at Nishi-Arita. We left from kaikan about 8.30 and arrived there at10.30. We listened to the instruction from farmers. It let me known that they have to work very hard to produce rices for us. They taught us how to use a sickle. Then we headed to a paddy field and started to harvest. The area was about 10x100m. We used about 30 minutes to finish. Next, we had to mill rice seeds by a machine. It was very comfortable. We just put them in this machine, and it would mill and seperated rice seeds to bags. We used 1 hour for this process.

After that, it was a BBQ time. There were porks, beefs, chickens, vegetables, teas and beers! We enjoy this meal so much.

Then we went to Arita Porcelain Park. Some of my friends went to make a pottery. I went to inside of the park. The first question of me and my friends about this park was "Why did they build the western palace in Japan?" It was very beautiful. There was a single building which had a corridor pass through to a garden. It also had a fountain. We left there about 5.00 and arrive at kaikan 7.00

I would like to say "Arigato Gozaimasu" to Prof. Pollack, Prof, Imai, Hiroki and the tutor gangs, the driver, and all of my friends for the wonderful study trip.

Hello Everybody, (English)

Now it is the third week that I've stayed in Fukuoka, Japan. I am adapting myself to an absolutely different culture from my hometown - Bangkok, Thailand.

Let's start with Japanese food. In Thailand, we eat rice and drink soup with spoon, eat noodle with chopsticks. But here I have to eat all of them with chopsticks, and drink soup by hold the bowl to your mouth. How can I do that? It is very weird for me.

Now, lunch time is coming. I will go to enjoy with chopsticks againg. hahaha
